Deep in the mountain
Surrounded by the Chartreuse, Vercors and Belledonne massifs, Grenoble is immersed in the heart of the mountains, making it easy to explore both summer and winter. Climb up to Fort de la Bastille, at the beginning of the Chartreuse massif, to get some height and enjoy the beautiful view.
Cycling, with 475 km of cycle paths
Despite being surrounded by mountains, Grenoble is relatively flat, making it very easy to get around by bike, thanks in particular to hundreds of kilometers of cycle paths that take you from one end of the city to the other, and all around Grenoble.
Green areas
In a city that aims to be ecologically sound, numerous green spaces such as Paul Mistral Park, and city gardens have invaded the city, making it pleasant to stroll or rest in the calm and freshness of the greenery. On the way out of the town center, there are a number of lakes where you can take a refreshing dip in the hot summer months.
Sport for everyone
Thanks to its location, Grenoble and the surrounding area offer a multitude of choices for sporting activities at all levels, including hiking, trail running, canoeing, climbing, via ferrata, mountain biking, paragliding, swimming, wakeboarding, downhill and cross-country skiing... Lots of activities to try out !
